A fellow author, Queen Esther Eberechi, posted a very interesting, and I feel worthwhile message to writers. I am roughly paraphrasing her thoughts, making sure you know it came from her pen and mind and does not contain any of my original thoughts.
When we write, our words convey our thoughts and our messages. When they are sincere, no matter in what form they appear – novel, poem, short story, blog, post, etc. will often determine who our readers and followers might become. This loyalty translates into reading more of our books, stories and ideas and forming a connection with us. In doing so, we have built a worthwhile and sustaining relationship with them. It is one that can become something we mutually enjoy.
However, honesty is something which goes beyond the field of writing . It pertains to all of us, and really applies to all relationships, professional, as well as personal. It can build and maintain positive and long lasting relationships or without it, destroy them. Beyond our words (the tool of authors), are the tone of voice in which they conveyed, and the behavior we display, also indicate sincerity. When these are communicated consistently, our honesty shines through.
