The Second Edition of Peace: The Other Side of Anger is nearing its release- perhaps within a month. It is a resource for all adults whose lives touch those of teenagers on how to help these youngsters manage their anger in positive ways. It focuses on an anger management program which I had the pleasure of developing with teens in the high school I served in as a guidance counselor, as well as with suggestions and input from other educators, parents etc.
There are different aspects of this subject explored in this book:
1. The WHY’s of anger – its causes-those obvious and those less
apparent.
2. HOW’s – its effects – physical, emotional, psychological
3. WHAT’S – methods of handling this emotion in positive ways
4. SITUATIONS to apply these techniques
I will be providing different ideas from this book for you to think about and possibly utilize. The first of these revelations is providing a different anger management technique:
When angry with someone, it helps to sit down and think about the problem–pause, give yourself a chance to calm down, and focus on the whole situation.
